Bill Raynor, Jr.

March 10, 1934 ~ July 3, 2019 (age 85)

 

Bill Raynor Jr. passed from this life on July 3, 2019 surrounded by his beloved children and grandchildren at the age of 85. Bill Raynor Jr. was born on March 10, 1934 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Bill Raynor Sr. and Clema Robinson Raynor. His family moved to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1944 after purchasing Arrowhead Lodge where “Billy” was the bellboy and dishwasher. Bill Jr. had fond memories of attending grade school at the Missouri Military Academy in Mexico, Missouri. He returned to the Lake to attend school at the School of the Osage where he graduated from high school in 1953. Bill attended the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri where he met the love of his life, Joyce Downs. Bill and Joyce were married on December 18, 1954 in St. Louis, MO. Joyce proceeded Bill in death in 2013. Bill and Joyce started their family while he attended school and worked as a door to door salesman. Eventually Bill Jr. would join his father in business at Osage Products Company in Eldon, Missouri, continuing operation after Bill Sr’s death in 1974 until his retirement in 1999.

 

Bill and Joyce got their wish of having a large family. Bill is survived by five sons, two daughters, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Children: Bill Raynor III (wife - Lynn), Kansas City, MO; Mike Raynor (fiancé - Carol George), Eldon, MO; Pat Raynor (wife - Kim), Springfield, MO; Tina Keller, Lake Ozark, MO; Mary Darlin, St. Louis, MO; Tom Raynor, Las Vegas, NV; Matt Raynor (wife - Yvette), Boynton Beach, FL. Grandchildren: Lauren Carender (husband - Dan), High Point, MO; Jenny Raynor, Philadelphia, PA; Adam Raynor, Kansas City, MO; Andrew Keller, Chicago, IL; Mitchell Garcia, Albuquerque, NM; Allison Weppner (husband - Cory), Eldon, MO; Ian Raynor, Denver, CO; Annie Darlin, St. Louis, MO; Emma Maloney (husband - Ian), St. Louis, MO. Great-grandchildren: Grant Carender, Connor Carender, Azey Maloney, Ever Maloney, Willa Weppner.

 

Bill was a member of the Eldon Community for almost fifty years and was well known for his many acts of generosity and kindness. He was very involved in the schools in such programs as providing coats for kids, air conditioners for class rooms, helping to get the Eldon Flag Football program up and running, and putting on the Centennial celebration. For his good works in the Eldon community he was honored as Eldon’s Distinguished Citizen. Bill would make sure a family who could not afford Christmas would have Christmas on their doorstep Christmas Eve. He was known to load up his station wagon on Mother’s Day and other holidays and take flowers to ladies all over town who otherwise may not get flowers. He led an exemplary life for his children and all that knew him.

 

A visitation will be held for Bill Raynor Jr. at Phillips Funeral Home on Monday, July 8, 2019 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM with a Rosary prayed at 6:30 PM, A funeral Mass will be said for Bill on Tuesday. July 9, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Msgr. Marion Makarewicz officiating.  Followed by a graveside service at the Eldon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make donations to Catholic Charities (www.catholiccharitiesusa.org) or the American Heart Association (www2.heart.org/site/SPageNavigator/donatenow_heart) in their father’s honor.
